What is the best laptop for an engineering student at a college?(Explained)

A laptop is a college student’s best friend. As an engineering student, you need a laptop that can handle the demands of your coursework and extracurricular activities.

Today, I’m going to share with you what I believe is the best laptop for an engineering student at a college. Here are the five best laptops for an engineering student.

1: Dell XPS 13

I’ve researched and tested several laptops extensively, and the Dell XPS 13 is the clear winner. To start, it has a powerful Intel Core i5 8th Gen processor and 8GB of RAM.

This gives you the power you need to handle any coursework or research projects you might have.

It’s also lightweight and has a stylish design that will look great on your desk. Lastly, it has a long battery life that lets you work all day without charging it.

If you’re looking for the best laptop for an engineering student at a college, the Dell XPS 13 is a perfect choice.

Pros and Cons Of Dell XPS 13

PROS

Infinity Display

Although the name “Infinity” may sound corny, the screen is no joke. The nearly edge-to-edge screen of the XPS 13 is unmatched by any other manufacturer.

It is very unique when experienced in person. You won’t look at some other laptops the same way anymore since there isn’t any unused area surrounding the screen to detract from the experience.

Fortunately, the technical improvement is also supported by the display quality. A QHD+ touchscreen panel with a resolution of 3,200 x 1,800 pixels can be installed on the XPS 13.

Build Quality

One of the smallest ultrabooks available was made possible by Dell’s strong emphasis on compactness.

The aluminium metal coating on the top and bottom of the XPS 13’s body, which has a 9–15mm taper, gives it an industrial and upscale appearance.

Its simplicity and elegance are similar to Apple’s design philosophy.

Keyboard + Touchpad

The keyboard of the XPS 13 is excellent. The keys’ 1.2mm travel distance is adequate, and their location and spacing are perfect. I honestly have nothing negative to say about with this keyboard.

CONS

Palm Rest

The plastic that covers the typing area feels elegant, but after using the laptop, it loses some of its glossy appeal. It attracts smudges.

You might wish to bring a rag for cleaning with you. It’s sad that the appeal of the XPS 13 may so simply and soon wane. Additionally, easy to pick up fingerprints are the touchpad and keyboard.

Ergonomics

Dell had to sacrifice certain ergonomics in order to make it’s XPS 13 thin and light. There isn’t much to be upset about, although some people may find it irritating.

The lid cannot be opened with one hand. The laptop will lift up as a whole because of how light it is.

Brightness

I stand by my praise of the QHD+ display’s high quality (the one you can see in these images). The maximum brightness is the one drawback, though. It should be between 20 and 30 percent brighter, please.
